New Cyber Security Center Classroom Facility Dedicated in Memory of Jarrod T. Mochnick

WHAT:
At 1PM on November 1st, Pittsburgh Technical College and Aires will conduct a ribbon- cutting ceremony to dedicate a specialized cyber security center classroom facility at the college, dedicated in the memory of Jarrod T. Mochnick.
Mochnick was a 2013 Pittsburgh Technical Graduate and an employee of Aires before passing away in January of 2018 at the age of 25, following a vehicle accident. Aires has engaged in numerous corporate philanthropic activities in Mochnick’s name, culminating in the dedication of the new cyber security learning center.

WHY:
The Jarrod T. Mochnick Cyber Security Center will serve as a learning hub for Pittsburgh Technical College students in the information systems and technology program, studying cyber security and digital forensics. The center is designed as a pod-style, interactive learning center providing heads in, hands on learning opportunities. The new center will provide opportunity for instruction of information security through host system hardening, system availability monitoring, applied encryption and incident analysis. Through an in-house, standalone security environment, students will gain exposure to new hacking techniques and prevention and data loss protection.
