2015 STARTING COHORT GRADUATION RATES
The mission of Pittsburgh Technical College, as a degree-granting institution, is to provide a diverse student body with an immersive, academic, career-ready education that supports personal and professional growth while meeting the ever-evolving needs of business, industry, and our global community.
The faculty and staff at PTC strive every day to further the mission of PTC, and work to continuously improve each student’s learning experience and potential for success. The graduation rate is a metric used to track retention and the success of PTC students.
The metric shown below includes first-time full-time students who started at PTC in July and October 2015, and completed a program of study on or before August 2021 (which is 150% of the normal time to complete the program). This data was reported to the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) in the winter of 2021, and is updated annually. The current graduation rate metric will be updated shortly after the winter reporting is complete for the current year.

2015 STARTING COHORT – PELL GRANT INFORMATION
A Pell Grant is an educational grant the U.S. federal government provides for students who need it to pay for college. Federal Pell Grants are limited to students with financial need, who have not earned their first bachelor’s degree, or who are enrolled in certain post-baccalaureate programs through participating institutions.
A loan that is subsidized by the federal government is provided to help out students with a financial need and usually are offered at a better rate than unsubsidized loans (which are not limited to students with a financial need).
The metric shown below details the percentage of PTC students who received a PELL Grant, subsidized loan, and/or unsubsidized loan. Students who took multiple loans may be counted in more than one metric.
Subcohort of full-time, first-time students seeking other than a bachelor’s degree | # of Students in Cohort | Total Completers within 150% |
---|---|---|
Number of Students in Cohort | 694 | 411 |
Recipients of a PELL Grant (within entering year) | 478 | 251 |
Recipients of a Direct Subsidized Loan (within entering year) that did not receive a Pell grant | 145 | 108 |
