Business Administration
Choose one of two concentrations within this program.
Accounting
Accounting Administration is a program that delivers solid business fundamentals, along with in-depth study of accounting concepts and practices as you work through challenges that reflect today’s dynamic business environment. Courses are designed to help you start your career and prepare you for four core National Bookkeepers Association (NBA) certification exams: Bookkeeping, Payroll, Tax, and Quickbooks.
Career Skills
- Process business transactions and payroll for business entities such as for-profit, not-for-profit, and government.
- Prepare income statements, owner’s equity statements, and balance sheets.
- Post accruals and deferrals.
- Estimate depreciation.
- Cost business inventory.
- Analyze financial statements.
- Calculate and prepare taxes for individuals, sole proprietorships, partnerships, and corporations.
- Maintain accounts in a computerized environment.
- Create spreadsheets.

Certifications
PTC participates in the NBA’s Bookkeeper Education Certification
Program. We’ll prepare you to take four core area certification tests so
you can earn your Certified Public Bookkeeper (CPB) designation.
Management
Our management concentration is all about preparing you to enter the complex business world with skills to advance your career. You will focus on business operations, human resources, international business, finance, accounting, and management. The management concentration blends critical thinking, problem solving, and business administration.
Career Skills
- Apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) by preparing basic accounting transactions.
- Understand forms of business ownership.
- Learn to problem-solve, think critically, and communicate and present effectively.
- Evaluate business situations to assist in developing marking initiatives for an organization.
- Use information technology to improve business operations.
- Analyze business statements, financial reports, and other performance indicators.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the economic, regulatory, political, global, and environmental factors that impact business and industry.
