Current Job Title: Senior Webmaster
Current Employer: Blue Corona, a business-to-business digital marketing company headquartered in Gaithersburg, Maryland
Please provide a brief job description and list any awards or recognitions you have received:
As a Senior Webmaster in my company, I maintain client websites and work on larger overall projects for our clients so that my team can focus on the smaller tasks that are presented daily. I work heavily in HTML, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP and also help with DNS migrations and database management. Prior to this during my time as a UI Web Developer, I developed high fidelity prototypes for web pages and mobile applications. I also worked with developing client portals using proprietary tracking and analysis software.
Explain any interesting projects that you have worked on:
Currently, I work on updating client websites and building client websites as well as any other projects sent into my work queue. Previously I developed mobile application prototypes, client portal interface updates, custom dashboards/client-facing UI, and custom parcel tracking HTML emails.
What lessons or skills did you learn at PTC that still inspire you to this day?
The education I received at PTC was invaluable. The program covers most essential aspects of the web development field, and through experience, I have found that this program covers more than some bachelor’s programs! Time management is important not only in school but also in the professional world. Keeping a calendar is a critical part of completing any task on time. In addition, a drive to learn externally from a formal classroom setting will take your knowledge and career to the next level.
Who was your biggest influencer as a PTC student?
My biggest influencer at PTC was Web Professor Frank Schurter. The education he provided built the stepping stones to achieve my professional goals. His thoroughness and attention to details (in web projects) are an important factor for any student that wishes to excel in their professional career. To this day he is still a valued contact and colleague.
